Study of structure of turbulent boundary layer

Flow Velocity Measurement Using LDV System

Fundamental studies of structure of turbulent boundary layer past smooth and rough surfaces in presence of various pressure gradients are carried out at WEFL using laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV), hot-wire anemometry, surface-mounted thermal devices, and miniature pressure sensors.

The main LVD system operational at the WEFL is powered by 7 Watt laser and it allows for simultaneous measurement of two components of turbulent velocity fluctuations.
